The Denver Broncos on Thursday signed quarterback Kyle Orton to a one-year contract extension. According to the Denver Post, Orton will be guaranteed $5.5 million next season and could make up to $8.8 million. Orton is scheduled to make $2.6 million this season on a one-year deal. “His leadership and knowledge of the offense have enabled him to have a solid offseason and training camp, and we are collectively looking forward to the 2010 season,” Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said in a statement.
