Eric Decker is eager for his return to Minnesota, even if the stadium he’ll be playing in doesn’t excite him. Decker and the Denver Broncos play the Vikings in the final preseason game Thursday at the Metrodome, where Decker played three seasons in college and also a little baseball for the Gophers.

In the NFL, virtually all players receive their base salaries in a pay cycle that runs during the regular season — so it’s their base salary divided by 17 weeks.
The 2010 Broncos are not exactly a team built from within. You would expect that to be the case when an NFL franchise has recently had coaching and general manager changes.

There may not be a more indispensable player on Denver’s roster than left tackle Ryan Clady. So the news that Clady’s surgically-repaired left knee has healed sufficiently to allow him to return to practice and possibly be back in time for the Sept. 12 season-opener was a best-case scenario.
