Denver (CBS4) – The Denver Broncos on Friday filled their vacant defensive coordinator position with long-time Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio. Del Rio worked as the defensive coordinator under current Broncos head coach John Fox in 2002 when Fox was the head coach of the Carolina Panthers. Since then, Del Rio served as the head coach in Jacksonville until he was fired during the 2011 season. Del Rio takes over for Dennis Allen, who was hired earlier in the week as the new head coach of the Oakland Raiders. Del Rio is the Broncos seventh defensive coordinator in the last seven years.
